White-Spunner Realty's Michael Wilson earns CCIM Designation

Mobile, Alabama (April 14, 2016) - Michael Wilson, 23, of White-Spunner Realty, Inc. has become one of the youngest professionals in the U.S. to earn the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world. 
 

Wilson was among 149 commercial real estate professionals from around the country who earned the designation by passing the CCIM Comprehensive Examination, the final component in the designation process. Only about six percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners worldwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry. Wilson joined WSR in 2014 as a licensed agent. His focus is in Baldwin County, one of the state’s fastest growing communities. He earned a degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College where he attended on a four-year academic scholarship.

MIKE REID PROMOTED TO QUALIFYING BROKER AT WHITE-SPUNNER REALTY

Marietta Urquhart Joins White-Spunner Realty, Inc.

Mobile, AL (September 16, 2015) - Mobile, Alabama-based White-Spunner Realty is pleased to announce the addition of Marietta Murray Urquhart as a commercial sales associate.

Urquhart, a licensed realtor who specializes in commercial sales and leasing, has worked in the local real estate industry for more than a decade.

Emily Miller Named Property Management and Leasing Assistant

Mobile, AL (July 6, 2015) - Emily Miller, has been named Property Management and Leasing Assistant with White-Spunner Realty (WSR), a real estate brokerage and development firm based in Mobile, AL.

Harle earned a degree in business administration and aviation management from Auburn University in 2004. He is a member of the Mobile Airport Authorities Air Service Task Force. He also serves as Vice President of the Mobile Chapter of the Alabama Restaurant Association.

Harle has been recognized for his community involvement. In 2013, he received the Civilian Assistance Award from the Mobile Police Department. In 2008, he was included in those businesses awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the South Alabama Small Business Association. In 2010, the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce honored his franchise, Roly-Poly, as a Small Business of the Month.

He also is a member of multiple professional associations, including the National Association of Realtors, Alabama Association of Realtors and the Mobile Area Association of Realtors.

A native of Spanish Fort in Baldwin County, Harle now lives in Mobile with his wife, Barclay, and their sons, Hayden and Harrison. They attend St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mobile, AL. 

Michelle Johnson joins the WSR Team

Michelle Johnson recently joined the White-Spunner Realty team, serving as Controller. She has more than 15 years of experience as a financial services manager and senior accounting manager with a local multi-media company. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Alabama (U.S.A.) and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from U.S.A.

Michelle found a job immediately after college, serving in the local newspaper’s finance department. She worked her way up the ranks, moving from an accounts receivable supervisor to a manager of financial services responsible for the accounting functions for three corporate locations for the state’s largest newspaper group.

“The values evident among the staff are what drew me to White-Spunner Realty,” she said. “They value family, honesty and integrity. That’s so important when you are managing investments.”

A native of Mobile, Michelle now lives in Midtown with her family. They attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church. When she’s not at work, Michelle likes to spend time with her family and take day-trips to the beach.

Matthew Garrard awarded CPM Pin

Congratulations to Matthew Garrard! He was recently awarded his CPM (Certified Property Manager) Pin.  The CPM designation is the most valued and prestigious credential in the real estate industry. CPM is affiliated with IREM (The Institute of Real Estate Management).   IREM Members are recognized as experts in real estate management, and they are at the top of the profession. This an international community of real estate managers dedicated to ethical business practices, maximizing the value of investment real estate, and promoting superior management through education and information sharing. An affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, IREM is the home for all industry professionals connected to real estate management – and the only organization serving both the multi-family and commercial sectors.  Matthew completed an extensive list of courses and passed many exams before becoming a CPM candidate. A 1,150-square-foot space at 77 South Section St., Suite B, in Fairhope has been leased for an upscale whiskey and martini bar. Morgan Ashurst with Ashurst & Niemeyer worked for the tenant and Sharon Wright with White-Spunner Realty (WSR) represented the landlord. 

Louis Berger has moved its office to downtown and leased three office suites at 56 St. Emanuel St. Sharon Wright represented the tenant and John Peebles with Peebles & Cameron worked for the landlord.

Thai Diner leased a 1,200-square-foot restaurant space at Sugar Mill Village on Hillcrest Road. The eatery will offer Thai dishes and sushi. Sharon Wright handled the transaction for both landlord and tenant. 

Xtreme Nutrition & Smoothies has leased a 1,400-square-foot retail space in Fountain Plaza on State Highway 59 in Foley. Sharon Wright managed the transaction.

Covenant Hospice has leased a 3,318-square-foot medical space at 3103 Airport Blvd. in Hilton Square and plans to move their old office to the new locale in the near future. Sharon Wright worked for the tenant and Justin Toomey with Stirling Properties represented the landlord. 

Postmark Inc. leased a 6,400-square-foor office/warehouse space at 755 Middle St. in Fairhope. The digital printing and direct mail company will relocate operations, currently a few blocks over on 918 Nichols Ave., to the new space soon. Sharon Wright worked for the tenant and Philip Hodgson with Coldwell Banker Reehl Properties represented the landlord.

Local investors purchased a 6,000-square-foot office/warehouse space at 26121 Equity Drive in Daphne for $200,000. Pratt Thomas with Merrill P. Thomas & Co. represented the buyers and Sharon Wright worked for the sellers.

According to Merrill Thomas with the Merrill P. Thomas Company, a Louisiana speculator recently acquired the Dollar General Store located at 4690 Springhill Ave. across from Municipal Park for $850,000. Brokers Paul Trawick with Folmar & Associates and Ralph Neal with Watson Realty also helped handle the transaction.

Chicken Salad Chick is opening their second location in Daphne in a shopping center located on State Highway 64 and U.S. Highway 98 according to local franchise co-owner, Misty McClure. The grand opening is slated for the first quarter of 2015. The Auburn-based eatery opened its first location in the county in west Mobile last fall.

The Bluegill Restaurant located at 3775 Battleship Parkway just purchased two lots east of the eatery with plans to accommodate a larger, outdoor concert style format for customers in the near future.

Local accounting firm J.T. Murray, III, CPA, LLC, recently moved from 4365 Midmost Drive, Suite 4, in the Downtowner Loop office park area to 3958 Snow Road, Suite K, in Semmes, effectively doubling office space due to recent growth.

Goodwill Easter Seals opens massive Spanish Fort facility
Goodwill Easter Seals (GES) recently announced a new 26,420-square-foot facility in Spanish Fort in the Eastern Shore Center across from Publix Super Market. The new complex, located at 10718 Eastern Shore Blvd., will house a retail store, donation center and community center.

“Having a facility of this size and scope in the Spanish Fort area will help us to bring many more services to individuals and families living in Baldwin County,” Frank Harkins, president and CEO of Goodwill Easter Seals said.

GES’ mission is to provide services to individuals and families in need of children’s services. They also offer education and employment services including job training and career assistance to people with disabilities, those lacking education/work experience and others facing challenges that impair finding gainful employment.

Mobile, AL (May 7, 2014) – Mike Reid of White-Spunner Realty recently sold the former Miracle of Prayer Church along with 4.5 acres on Hwy 43 in Grove Hill, AL for $175K. Three buildings, totaling approximately 20,000 square feet, are located on the property. Reid represented the seller, The Bank of the Ozarks, and the buyer, G & G Enterprises, LLC in this transaction.
